You should get your hair cut every 6-8 weeks to avoid dead ends and to keep your hair as healthy as possible. If you like to maintain a cleaner look, every 3-4 weeks is highly recommended.

Here are a few tips if your hair is dry:

  • Cut back on the amount of times you shampoo your hair within the week. A maximum of 2 times per week is recommended for dry hair types.
  • Read out all the ingredients on your shampoo; avoid any with sulfates or other harsh chemicals.
  • Avoid taking too many hot showers. Hot water can dehydrate the scalp and strip your hair of its natural oils, which can lead to breakage.
  • Recommended products: J’Bez “Moisturizing Shampoo”, The Treatment “Loc-Luv.”

Here are a few tips if your hair is oily:

  • Don’t put oils directly on your scalp or hair. It should always be diluted in a liquid.
  • Shampoo and wash your hair more regularly.
  • Recommended oils: Tea Tree Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera

Here are a few tips to get rid of dandruff:

  • Change out your shampoo. You may need to shampoo more frequently to clean the build up in the scalp but it has to be a special type of shampoo that treats dandruff specifically.
  • Exfoliate your scalp to remove dead skin.
  • Avoid scratching your head.
  • Recommended product: The Treatment “Loc-Luv.”

If you don’t usually style your hair but want to get started, we suggest investing in a blowdryer and a few tools like a brush and comb. Style your hair in the direction you want it to flow prior to putting on hair products. Products are made to be the finishing touch.
