Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This website is operated by J’Bez Barbershop and Salon LLC, a California limited liability company, which operates two barbershops: one in Riverside, California and one in Newport Beach, California. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean that company. “You” means anyone who visits this website or books an appointment through it.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers this website. It explains what the site collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Booking happens with our booking provider, Squire. When you tap a Book button here, you leave this site and enter your details with Squire, which handles your appointment, your customer record, your reminders, and any payment under its own terms and privacy policy. This website never sees or stores your card details.

3. Information we collect

Information collected automatically

  • Your device type, browser, operating system, and screen size.
  • Your internet protocol address, which indicates your approximate location at city level.
  • The pages you view on this site and what you click, where you have accepted the optional cookies described below.
  • The website or advertisement that sent you here, including campaign parameters attached to an advertising link.

Our website host also processes the requests your browser makes, the way every website host must, so pages can be delivered to you.

Information you give us

  • Anything you write to us in an email or a message.
  • Appointment details you enter with Squire reach us so we can run your appointment: your name, your contact details, which barber you booked, and which service you chose.

4. Cookies, and your choice

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. This site uses them in two ways.

  • Strictly necessary. Remembering choices you make on the site, such as whether you accepted or declined cookies and which shop you were viewing. These are needed for the site to work properly.
  • Analytics and advertising. The services described in section 5. These stay off until you accept them. If you decline, or simply never answer, they stay off.

When you first visit, a notice asks whether you accept or decline. Your answer is remembered on your device. You can change your mind at any time with the button below, which clears your stored choice so the site asks again on your next page.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it automatically: the optional cookies stay off, even if you accepted them before, and we do not ask. You do not need to find a link or fill in a form for that to happen.

5. Analytics and advertising

With your consent, we use the following services on this website.

  • Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC. It tells us how many people visit each page, which shop page they viewed, how they arrived, and whether they clicked to book. We send a shop identifier with each event so we can understand Riverside and Newport Beach separately. Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. Each of our shops advertises from its own account, so each has its own pixel. It tells us whether an advertisement on Facebook or Instagram led to someone clicking to book, and it allows Meta to show our advertisements to people who have visited this site. Meta’s handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.

When you click a Book button on this site, we record that the click happened, which shop it was for, and which advertising campaign brought you here if there was one, so we can understand what our advertising actually earns us. We do not attach your name, your phone number, or your email address to that event.

Neither service runs until you accept the cookie notice. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the browser add on Google provides, and manage advertising preferences in your Facebook and Instagram account settings.

6. How we use information

  • To run your appointment once you have booked it.
  • To answer questions you send us.
  • To understand how this website performs and to improve it.
  • To measure whether our advertising is working, and to reach people who may want to book with us.
  • To keep records we are required to keep, to resolve disputes, and to protect our legal rights.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information for money. Information is shared with Meta for advertising only when you have accepted the optional cookies, and you can withdraw that at any time as described in section 4. Beyond that, we share information only as described here.

  • Our booking provider. Squire handles your appointment and customer record under its own terms and privacy policy, and sends confirmations and reminders on its own behalf.
  • Analytics and advertising platforms. As described in section 5, and only with your consent.
  • Our website host. Which necessarily processes the requests your browser makes.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountant or our lawyer, where they need it to advise us.
  • Law enforcement or a court, where we are legally required to provide it.
  • A buyer, if the business is sold or merged, in which case your information transfers with it.

8. How long we keep information

Emails and messages are kept for as long as we need them to help you and to keep ordinary business records. Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our analytics account. Appointment and customer records live with our booking provider under its own retention practices. You can ask us to delete information as described in section 10.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections to this website and limiting access to what each person needs. No website or system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you where the law requires it.

10. Your California privacy rights

California privacy law applies to businesses above certain size thresholds. Whether or not we meet them, we extend these rights to everyone who uses this site.

  • The right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
  • The right to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep.
  • The right to correct personal information about you that is inaccurate.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Our advertising pixel runs only with your consent, your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal is honoured automatically, and the button in section 4 withdraws your consent at any time.
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse you service, charge you differently, or give you a lower standard of service because you exercised a privacy right.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 14. We will verify your identity before we act, usually by confirming details we already hold, such as the phone number on your appointment history. You may use an authorised agent, in which case we will ask for proof of their authority. We aim to respond within the timeframe the law allows.

11. Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. Where a parent or guardian books an appointment for a child, the information is provided by the adult and is treated as theirs. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to other sites

This site links to our booking provider, to map services, and to our social media profiles. Those services are operated by other companies and are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business changes or as the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will make that clear rather than relying on the date alone.

14. How to contact us

For any privacy question, or to make a request about your information, email us at hello@jbezofficial.com, or write to us at either shop. The addresses are in the footer of this page.
